Ganadores del National Board of Review

El National Board of Review tiene una larga historia. Fue creado en 1909 para apoyar la distribución cinematográfica en Nueva York cuando en 1908 el alcalde prohibió su exhibición por no considerarlas un arte refinado aunque por un tiempo se dedicaba a censurar películas. Desde 1929 la organización se dedica a realizar una premiación en la que a través de una selección de las mejores películas tanto estadounidenses como extranjeras. Las categorías han ido aumentando a lo largo de los años. En esta ocasión La Invención de Hugo Cabret de Martin Scorsese resultó la triunfadora al ser considerada la mejor película del año y el director neoyorkino obtuvo igualmente el galardón a mejor realizador. Es de notar que George Clooney gana por tercera vez el galardón, que Harry Potter y las Reliquias de la Muerte Parte II se encuentre en el Top 10, que Tilda Swinton comienza a obtener premios por su alabada interpretación en We need to talk about Kevin, y que la cinta Miss Bala no aparezca en el top a películas extranjeras. Por lo general no es un indicador certero rumbo al Oscar pero también se toman en cuenta estos premios para dar un pronóstico final. Aquí está la lista de ganadores de esta edición:
